Why We Built This Site
Louisiana gives the public a real right to inspect court and agency records, but the practical problem is knowing which office holds the piece you want. A warrant does not sit in one file cabinet. The court that issued it sets the charge and any bail. The Sheriff's Office serves it and can say whether it is still outstanding. A bench warrant for a missed date often stays with the mayor's court or the justice of the peace that set the case. Federal matters run through an entirely separate system in Alexandria.
That structure is easy to misread. A person can call one office, hear that nothing is on file, and conclude that no warrant exists, when the case is actually sitting with another court down the street. This site gathers the local details in one place, including the difference between a town citation, a district charge, and a ward matter, so the first call goes to the office that actually keeps the record.
Note: Louisiana uses the word parish rather than county, so the site keeps the familiar county name in its title and the official parish wording in the details.
What You Will Find Here
- Warrant searches: how to run a warrant search through the Sheriff's Office, the Clerk of Court, and the local courts, and which identifiers each office asks for
- Open warrants: what an active warrant means, why a missing web listing proves nothing, and how a court recalls one
- Missed court dates: how bench warrants and attachments arise and which court controls the fix
- Traffic and city tickets: the mayor's court routes in Harrisonburg, Jonesville, and Sicily Island, plus the state traffic process
- Records requests: what to ask for under Louisiana's public records law, and how to get a written answer
What We Cannot Do
This is a reference site, not an office. That distinction matters most when a warrant is actually open.
- We cannot look up whether a warrant exists for any person
- We cannot recall, quash, or clear a warrant
- We cannot post bond or set up a surrender
- We cannot give legal advice about a charge, a court date, or bail
- We cannot promise that every phone number, fee, or listing here is current today
Only the court that issued a warrant can confirm that it exists or that it has been recalled. The Sheriff's Office can confirm enforcement and custody facts. Use one of those two sources for an official answer, and call before you rely on anything you read here.
Search Partners
Some pages carry search boxes that outside companies operate. Those providers set their own prices and run their own services, and when a search leads to a paid signup this site may receive a referral fee. That revenue keeps the reference pages free to read. We do not control what a partner charges, what its results contain, or how current its data is, and a partner result is not an official warrant check.
